Is There Any Such Thing As A Anti-Super-Hero?
Hello,
What do you think, dear readers? Is Madam X a super hero? Let's make this the question of the week. Send me your thoughts on the subject, either via comments of email. Email this blog at madamxandcrew@gmail.com anytime you feel like it. If I get enough feed back maybe we'll make this a weekly or bi-weekly feature of Madam X and Crew.
OK, down to business, stating with the reason for my query:
Illustration Friday from last week (1/19/07):
I'm not sure if the scan of this drawing is crooked, or the actual drawing is.
Here are two watercolor paintings for an old Illustration Friday topic: "dance" (6/16/06)
These are two of my favorite kinds of dancers to draw. My third favorite is flapper! Awesome!
Illustration Friday from 1/26/07: "red"
My first impulse was to do a red headed girl, or girls. I even sketched them out. But then I thought to sketch a boy, too. And this is the only one that got paint. This is the only one that ended up interesting me.
This is a commission I did for my friends Daryl and Janie. They are really wonderful people and artists. I did slightly change the piece from how you see it now. I made her lips pink!
These are two little warm up paintings I did while getting ready to paint the dancers. I'm experimenting with doing a sketch, then over painting, then erasing the pencil makrs. I don't usually do that. The girl on the left is done as I tend to, with the pencil lines still there, under the paint. The one on the right is the newer way. Any thoughts?
I'm so off track with blogging and The MX Newsletter...
I gotta catch that train again!
Love and rayguns,
